Queen Elizabeth II and American Presidents Over the Years
HAPPY DIAMOND JUBILEE
QUEEN ELIZABETH II ~ 60 YEARS
With the Royal Wedding last year and the Diamond Jubilee in the news these days this seemed an appropriate item to pass on.
Elizabeth was the first child of Prince Albert, Duke of York (later King George VI), and his wife, Elizabeth. On his death in 1952, Queen Elizabeth 11 became Head of the Commonwealth, and queen of seven independent Commonwealth countries: the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Pakistan, and Ceylon. Her coronation was in 1953. Her reign, which at 60 years, is one of the longest!
