Mayan Calendar, Year of the Dragon and the End of the World
It is not an accident that the
Mayan Long Point Calendar
ends during the
Year of the Dragon.

The Year of the Dragon and the Mayan Calendar are both based on cycles of time. The year 2012 is a year when the Year of the Dragon and the Mayan Calendar intersect.
Some believe the the end of life as we know it is in 2012. More specifically on the date of the Winter Solstice, December 21, 2012. One or more of the following events will result in the Apocalypse:
… and a long list of natural disasters that include volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, mudslides, giant hurricanes, ocean storms, tidal waves, and the Fox News Network.
If the following poster / prediction is right,
then how can there be an
END of the World??
MY BOLD PREDICTION FOR 2013
(I have a fertile mind)
I believe that if the World does not end
on December 21, 2012,
then there will be a mini-baby boom
started on September 21, 2013

A Poem about the Dragon
I am an unquenchable fire,
The center of all energy,
The stout heroic heart.
I am truth and light,
I hold power and glory in my sway.
My presence
Disperses dark clouds.
I have been chosen
To tame the Fates.
I AM THE DRAGON.

The Year of the Dragon

The Dragon of 2012 is a Water Dragon
Water has a calming effect on the Dragon’s temperament. Water re-directs the Dragon’s enthusiasm, and increases his perceptive of others. These Dragons are excellent at taking a step back to re-evaluate a situation as they understand the art of patience and desire the spotlight less than other Dragons. They make smart decisions and are able to see eye-to-eye with other people.
The dragon used to be the symbol of the Chinese emperor. The emperors throne was called the “Dragon throne” and according to the Confucian ideal the whole earth should be influenced in a positive way by the shining example of the emperors life. People born in the Year of the Dragon are in good health, bursting with energy, long-living, easy to irritate, impatient and obstinate.
The Chinese Year of the Dragon is in 2012. Astrology is part of Chinese life. In Chinese astrology dragon people excel. The dragon Chinese zodiac year is special.
In Chinese astrology the dragon was seen as a powerful almighty king because it was made up of different parts of animals such as a tiger, fish, snake and an eagle.
The Chinese dragon was not seen as a threatening evil being as we do in the west – rather a symbol of power, superiority and rule.
Still today, the Dragon is a revered symbol. You can see many sculptures and carvings of the dragon. Even today, the Chinese associate the dragon with power and wisdom.

. The color of Water in Five Elements system is related to Black. Therefore we can say 2012 is a Black Dragon, Water Dragon or Black Water Dragon year.
“Come not between the dragon and his wrath.”
~ Shakespeare
“Fire leaped from the dragon’s jaws. He circled for a while high in the air above them lighting all the lake; the trees by the shores shone like copper and like blood with leaping shadows of dense black at their feet.”
~ J.R.R Tolkien
Confucius and the Dragon
Confucius thought of Laozi, the founder of Taoism, as a dragon. It was said that he paid a special visit to Laozi in Luoyi. After he came back, he was excited and shouted: I see the dragon! Laozi’s expression and deep thought on life made him resemble a dragon.
It is said that two dragons fell from heaven and landed on the roof of the house when Confucius was born.
The Confucius Temple ranks with Beijing’s Forbidden City and the summer resort of Chengde as one of the three great classical architectural complexes in China.
The Hall of Great Achievements is the temple’s grandest building, its most striking feature being 28 stone pillars carved with bas-relief dragons, dating from around 1500. Each pillar has nine gorgeous dragons, coiling around clouds and pearls towards the roof. There is nothing comparable in the Forbidden City in Beijing, and when emperors came to visit, the columns were covered with yellow silk to prevent imperial jealousy.

Year of the Dragon Babies
Happy Lunar New Year
The Year of the Dragon Baby Boom
What will make many couples happy around the world will be the ability to conceive a baby by Feb. 9, 2013.
Babies born in the Year of the Dragon are considered to be gifted with incredible qualities of luck and strength.
The dragon is widely considered the luckiest sign in the Chinese calendar, imbued with virtually every positive attribute imaginable — fearless, healthy, rich. And the Water Dragon is believed to balance less-desirable dragon qualities, including arrogance and a fiery temper.
Babies born after February 9 will be a Snake rather than a Dragon.
