Inside me lives a skinny woman crying to get out.   But I can usually shut her up with cookies.

Sounds like what Maxine would say. Some of her best sayings!

As I’ve Matured…

I’ve learned that whatever hits the fan will not be evenly distributed.

I’ve learned that you shouldn’t compare yourself to others – they are more screwed up than you think.

I’ve learned that depression is merely anger without enthusiasm.

I’ve learned to not sweat the petty things, and not pet the sweaty things.

I’ve learned that I don’t suffer from insanity, I enjoy it.

I’ve learned that there is a fine line between genius and insanity.

I’ve learned that the people you care most about in life are taken from you too soon and all the less important ones just never go away. And the real pains in the ass are permanent.

There is a pretty simple formula for weight loss. Losing weight means burning more calories than you consume. This means you are creating a calorie deficit.
Billions of dollars are spent on fad diets. While many people lose weight with these programs, they gain the weight back once they stop the “diet”. The only diet that really works is one which involves a permanent lifestyle change. A combination of reduced calories and regular exercise will help you lose weight and live a healthier and happier life.
A blog that I recently read deals with proven weight loss advice. The information provided was sound and practical. What I liked was that the author mentioned a number of times that you should consult your doctor before beginning an exercise and diet program.
To lose a pound of fat, you need a deficit of 3,500 calories. If your goal is one pound per week, this works out to 500 calories per day.
Eating 500 fewer calories every day without in increase in physical activity will be too much of a sacrifice for most people. The result is feeling hungry and a greater chance that you will not be able to sustain the diet. But if you add exercise to your plan, you can create the necessary caloric deficit by cutting just 250 calories from your diet and burning off the remaining 250 calories through exercise.
Exercise not only burns calories – it can also help you to increase your lean muscle mass. Since muscle burns more calories than fat, even when you are at rest, adding exercise to your weekly routine can help make you feel great and maintain the weight loss.
There is no magic formula to weight loss, just simple common sense.

With time, women gain weight because we accumulate so much information and
wisdom in our heads that when there is no more room, it distributes out
to the rest of our bodies. So we aren’t heavy, we are enormously cultured,

educated and happy.

Beginning today, when I look at my butt in the mirror I will think,
Good grief, look how smart I am!

Must be where ‘Smart Ass’ came from!

Many of us need to really think about our health and daily routines. A little bit less food or a little more exercise every day is the key. A combination of the two every day is even better. Fad diets (or any diets) don’t work. The key is a little change to our regular routine for the rest of our short time on this planet.
